Trending News: The debate on the work-life balance continues, and now the social media post of Google's software engineer Anu Sharma has taken a new turn on the issue. While sharing his experiences on Sunday, Anu claimed that companies do not make any appropriate payment to their employees for work-life balance, while their work interferes with their personal lives.

What did Google Engineer Anu Sharma say?

On Sunday, Anu Sharma posted on X (East Twitter) after working for four hours and wrote,
"FAANG companies have an on-call more difficult than startups, and its effect is also very large. Believe, you do not get payment for work-life balance."
This post proved to be a stir in the technical world and gave rise to a new view on work-life balance.

What does an on-call in FAANG companies mean?

"On-call" in the tech industry means that employees are responsible for solving any problem or outage outside regular work hours. FAANG means major American technical companies like Facebook (now meta), Amazon, Apple, Netflix and Google.

Reactions received on social media

After Anu Sharma's post, a response started coming on social media. Some users questioned Anu's statement and called him derogatory against startups. One user wrote,
"If you earn millions of rupees by working in Google, then why the complaint of on-call? You work in AC and look to those who work real. The company gives you good salary, then you will expect work."

Whose talk right?

This debate of work-life balance has now turned in a new direction. Anu Sharma's post has raised the question whether companies should provide appropriate salaries and facilities to employees in exchange for more work and pressure. This debate has started serious discussion on the rights of employees and the need for balance between their lives.
